In the 1911 Census, Thomas lived at 37, Brook Street, Whiston with parents Daniel and Mary, along with siblings Evan, William and Eunice
His date of enlistenmt to the army is not known, but his Medal entitlement of British War Medal, Victory Medal tells us that he did not serve overseas before 1916

His brother, Evan, also served with the 11th Bn.
After the war, in the summer of 1920, he married Gwladys Williams in Prescot. They had children Frank (1921), Nancy (1922) and Olive (1926)
In the 1939 National Register, Thomas is living at 11, Cross Street, Prescot, with his wife, Martha, and son Frank. Thomas was employed as a "Water Turncock"
