Comment: As a former student at CF Mott I revisited Prescot yesterday. It was the first time I'd seen the Cable works' memorial.
Congratulations and thanks for an excellent site which brings to life all those who served and gave their lives.

Comment: Many thanks for this great site. I've just seen a picture of my Great Grandfather Thomas Caslin. We have never had his picture and this is so wonderful to now have. If any of the Caslin Family would like to contact me please do.

Comment: Excellent website, informative and sensitively presented. An inspiration for me - I was only going to produce a booklet about my village Roll of Honour - but now maybe more?

Comment: Hello. I was interested to read the post on Samuel Heyes, particularly the additional information on how his twin sister, Charlotte, lost her life in the Empress of Ireland disaster. Charlotte was married to my grandfather William Thomas Burrows. They were returning to England from Canada because Charlotte was ill an needed an operation. We didn't know the identity of the baby she was holding when her body was recovered, so it has helped fill in some of the gaps in our family history. My granfather, William Thomas, eventually returned to his hometown of St Helens where he married my grandmother (Harriet Smith) and had three sons, William, Harold and Raymond (my dad). Uncles Bill and Harold are no longer with us but my Dad is enjoying retirement on the Isle of Wight with his wife Olive (Shawcross, also of St Helens).

Comment: I have only just found your website but it is wonderful to see the information about Prescot, the home of my father and his family. My paternal grandmother, MARY LEYLAND was the sister of Sapper HARRY LEYLAND killed in action in WW1.
It is comforting to see his service recognised on this website.
Thank you
Liz Allanson
