Service DetailsThomas was born around 1885 in Little Neston, Cheshire. He was the son of Thomas and Mary Roscoe. The 1911 census shows him as a Boarder in Neston at the home of Henry Smith, a Collier Thomas was employed as a Coal Hewer's Loader and it is assumed that some time after the 1911 census, he moved to Prescot to work in the Collieries.
His service number of 13143 is close to the 13130 issued to James Nulty, another Collier, and so perhaps they joined the Royal Dublin Fusiliers at the same time.
Thomas originally served with the 6th Battalion of the Regiment, and it was with these that he landed at Suvla Bay, Gallipoli, on 7th August 1915.

At an unknown date. He transferred to the 10th Bn and it was while serving in France with the 10th that he was killed in action.
The Parish Magazine of 26th January 1918 reported 'To our Roll of Honour must be added the following: Pte. Thomas Roscoe, 32, of the Dublin Fusiliers, of 33 Moss Street'.
