The Hall family lived at 17, Houghton Street, Prescot. William (45), a Watch Case Maker, and his wife Elizabeth (43) had children Thomas (15), Henry (13), William (8), Margaret (6), Joseph (3) and John (6m).
1911 Census -
William, aged 18, still lived with his parents, by now at 10, Cambridge Street, Prescot. He was single and working as a Colliery Labourer. |

Service DetailsWilliam Hall originally served with one of the Labour Companies of the King's (Liverpool) Regiment, probably either the 23rd or 24th Battalion, and almost certainly based at Prescot. He was transferred to the Labour Corps in April 1917 when the Labour Companies were absorbed into the newly formed Corps.
Thn on 1st April 1918, he was again transferred, this time to the Royal Army Service Corps. The 'M' prefix on his service number suggests that he was posted to a Motor unit.
It isn't clear when he went overseas
William Hall's Medal Index Card which shows his service with the King's (Liverpool) Regiment, Labour Corps and RASC. He was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal
WIlliam died at Woolwich Hospital on 21st November 1918 and was buried at St Mary's Churchyard a few days later.
