Service DetailsThe image below, from Lan-OPC, is a transcription of Walter Donohue's baptism record at St Mary's, Prescot
Pte Donohue originally served with the 7th Battalion of the South Lancashire Regiment before transfer to the Worcesters on an unknown date. I believe his South Lancashire Regiment number was issued in early 1917, though this is not 100% certain.
Although based close to Ypres, the Battalion weren't in action in late September or early October and so it isn't clear when Pte Donohue received the wounds from which he subsequently died.
He died at Duhallow Advanced Dressing Station on 2nd October 1917 and was buried at the adjacent cemetery
Walter Donohue's Medal Index Card shows that his first service was with the South Lancashire Regiment

The Parish Magazine of 28th November 1917 reported 'Pte. Walter Donohue, 19, of the Worcesters. Killed in action 2nd October, of 1, Ackers Street'.
The Register of Soldiers Effects, shown below, confirms that he Died of Wounds and that his next of kin was his father, Thomas
