Moss House, Prescot AM3 168003, Royal Air Force Born in Prescot on 29th October 1898, Henry was the only son of Thomas and Alice Baker, though they also had 5 daughters! The 1911 census listed the family at 32, Eccleston Street, Prescot, where Thomas was shown to be a Pawnbroker. Henry (listed as Harry) was a 13 year old Schoolboy.
The 1914 Electoral Roll for Prescot showed that the family had moved to Moss House, and that is the address which Henry used when he enlisted to the Royal Naval Air Service early in 1918, before transferring to the newly formed Royal Air Force on 1st April 1918. At that time, he stated that he was an Engineer's Apprentice at the Wire Works.
Henry remained in the UK whilst serving until was he transferred to the RAF Reserve on 22nd February 1919. His date of full discharge is not known.
