Francis BRODRICK


12 Hope Street, Prescot

AM2 250140, Royal Air Force

Born on 26th January 1898 in Prescot, the 1911 census listed the Brodrick family at 1, Mill Street, Prescot with 13 year iold Francis listed as a "Scholar". His father, Martin, was a Labourer at the Wore Works.

Francis joined the Royal Naval Air Service on 15th February 1918 and then transferred to the newly formed Royal Air Force on 1st April 1918. He recorded his occupation as Apprentice Fitter and Turner.

He remained in the UK and did not see any overseas service.

Francis was transferred to the reserve on 25th February 1919. His date of full discharge is not known.

He married Annie Forber in Prescot in 1930 and they had two children, Patricia and Marie. The extract from the 1939 National Register, shown below, records them still at 12, Hope Street, Prescot.



Francis died in Prescot in 1967, aged 68.
