38, Cyprus Street, Prescot James was born in 1895 in Prescot, the younger brother of Sandilands Stockley
The 1911 census listed the family at 38 Cyprus Street, Prescot. James, aged 15, lived with his parents, Ralph and Alice, and Ralph's father Sandylands (a 75 year old widower). Brother Sandilands (21) and sisters Elizabeth (14) and Isabella (9) were also present.

James married Ellen Platt in Prescot in 1921. They had two children, Dorothy (1923) and Ralph (1925).
James died in Andover in 1974, aged 79
