The 1911 census listed the family at the above address, where Francis was the third of five children to Martin and Maria Broderick.
He joined the Royal Navy on 15th February 1918. He was initially posted for training to HMS 'President II', working as an Air Mechanic until 31st March 1918 when he was transferred to the Royal Air Force.
No further details of his service have been located.
