Raymond JOHNSON

Private 3356, 2/4th Bn., South Lancashire Regiment

Later 241167, 2/5th Bn

Attesting in Prescot on 9th November 1914, Raymond Johnson listed his father, Albert, as his next of kin.

He remained in the UK until 16th February 1917, when he was posted to France. He remained there until 22nd May 1918, when he suffered a Gun Shot Wound to the 'Upper left extremity', this causing him to be sent back to the UK for treatment.

He remained with the Battalion until 23rd April 1918, when he was posted to the 2/4th Bn of the Regiment.

Raymond was discharged on 7th February 1919. At that time, he was a patient at the Northern General Hospital in Leeds. He was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
