17, King Street, Prescot Merchant Navy George Smart was born in Birkenhead in the Spring of 1888, the son of George Francis Smart and his wife, Jane.
The first link with Prescot is widowed Jane living at 17, King Street in 1911 with her brother, James Birchall, and her children Elsie and Madge.
Late in 1915, George married Martha Appleton in Prescot.
