13, New Cross Street, Prescot Private 28859, 10th Bn., South Lancashire Regiment The 1911 listed 23 year old Harry living at the above address, which was the home of his uncle, John Beesley. Harry was listed as a Watchmaker/Finisher, working for a Watch Manufacturer.
He was 28 years old and single when he attested on 6th December 1915 at Prescot. He recorded his occupation as 'Labourer'. His mother, Margaret Beesley of 3, Sewell Street, Prescot, was listed as next of kin.
He was posted to the Army Reserve and was then mobilised on 13th June 1916, being posted to the 10th Bn., South Lancashire Regiment.
He went to France on 22nd September 1916 and then on 11th October 1916, he was transferred to 11th Bn., East Lancashire Regiment, being renumbered to 33845.
Harry was discharged on 3rd September 1919 and was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal.
