Also Served: William Adamson - William ADAMSON
Eccleston Lane Ends, prescot Rank, Regiment and Number Not Known William Adamson appeared in the Prescot Grammar School list of old boys who were serving with the colours. The list, which was published in the Parish Magazine in 1915, showed WIlliam as serving with 'Other Regiments'.
There was only one boy of this name who attended the Grammar School, and he started there in 1895. Based on this information, I have identified the man living at Eccleston Lane Ends in the 1911 census as the person referred to.
William Adamson was shown as a 28 yesr old single man working as a Copper Spilicer at the Cable Works. He was the son of John Adamson, a Beerseller, and his wife Mary Adamson.
Unfortunately, I have been unable to positively identify William from this scant information as there were over 100 men of this name who served in the Army during the Great War.
