The 1911 census shows that he lived in Prescot as a boarder, aged 20, at the home of Thomas Bebbington, also of Buckley and presumably a relation. John worked as a Coal Miner
John was listed in the Prescot Reporter of 1915 as serving with the Royal Navy.
No further details of his service have been located.
