1891 Census -
Samuel, aged 2, is living with his parents, John and Nancy, at 20 Bond Street, Prescot.
1901 Census -
The family now lived at 25, Houghton Street, Prescot, Samuel being the fourth of seven sons, was aged 12.
The 1911 Census showed that James and Nancy Lawrenson had 13 children, but only 6 of them were still living. It would appear that by this time, Samuel had migrated to Canada, as he is not on the census.

Service DetailsSamuel Lawrenson was born in Prescot on 27th August 1888, the son of John and Nancy Lawrenson. He was a brother of Robert Lawrenson
On 28th September 1907, he sailed from Liverpool aboard the s.s. "Kensington", bound for Montreal, Canada. He was 18 years old and recorded his occupation as "Brassworker".
The Canadian Census of 1911 listed Samuel as living with his wife Sissy at Galt, Waterloo South, Ontario.
He attested for military service on 4th November 1914 in Canada and was posted to the 18th Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force. He reported that he worked as a Labourer and his next of kin was listed as his wife, Mrs Sissy Lawrenson.
He sailed for England with his unit on 18th April 1915.
The Battalion went to France on 15th September that year, but I don't think that Pte Lawrenson went with them as I can find no trace of any medal entitlement, suggesting that he didn't leave the UK.
He died in London General Hospital, King's College, Denmark Hill on 1st October 1915 of Pneumonia. He was buried at Nunhead (All Saints) Cemetery in London. My presumption is that he died of illness
