31 Columbia Road, Prescot Sapper 6762/428065, Royal Engineers William H Hyde was the father of Edward Hyde and Wilfred Hyde.
The Prescot Reporter in May of 1915 listed him as serving with the colours. His number (6762) is a Territorial Force number so he may have served before the war. William went to Egypt with his unit on 12th July 1915, but no more is known of his service beyond that date until he was demobilised to the Class Z Reserve on 21st March 1919.
He was entitled to the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
