Peter DILWORTH

28, Grosvenor Road, Prescot

Private 265126, Labour Corps

Peter Dilworth attested for Military Service in Preston on 22nd May 1915. He was a Baker by trade and gave his age as 40. He was initially posted to the Training Reserve Company of the Loyal North Lancashire Regiment but was transferred to the Labour Corps on 20th June 1917.

His next of kin was his wife, Beatrice, of the same address. They had married in Prescot on 12th February 1917.

Peter was discharged on 10th October 1917 at Nottingham as he was deemed to be no longer physically fit for military service. He had not served overseas and so had no medal entitlement. Strangely, at this time his age was shown as 54.
