WW1 Casualty: Thomas Galloway -

Thomas Galloway



Notes No details have been found of Thomas Galloway's military service or of his death, although he is commemorated on the Civic War Memorial. His birth was registered in Prescot in the early summer of 1900, the son of Peter and Mary Galloway of 12, Ackers Street, Prescot. On the 1901 census, Thomas was the youngest child, having half-sisters Mary (23) and Margaret (10). By the 1911 census, the family had moved to 5, Ackers Street. Peter was 47 and working as a Bricksetters Labourer. Mary was aged 33 and they had been married for 12 years. Since Thomas' birth, the family had also had another daughter, Margaret, aged 4.
