Moss Street, Prescot Private 21558, South Lancashire Regiment William Randles enlisted to the South Lancashire Regiment on 12th May 1915 and was discharged, suffering from wounds received, on 28th September 1916.
I am informed by John Yates that the actual reason for discharge was 'totally deaf in left ear and almost totally deaf in the right ear.'
The extract from the Silver War Badge rolls shown above confirms William's enlistment and discharge dates, and also that the reason for his discharge was wounds received
