John MULVIHILL

Pte 6229, 1st Bn., South Lancashire Regiment

John was a native of Roscommon in Ireland. The 1911 census showed him aged 20 living as a Boarder at the above address and working as a Foundry Labourer.

His army service number of 6229 was issued to the 1st Battalion of the South Lancs around October 1916.

His records also show an army number of 3644304 which shows that he served after the end of the Great War.

John was entitled to the British War Medal and Victory Medal. He was also entitled to the Afghan Clasp as he went to the North West Frontier with the South Lancs Regiment after the war.

His service is commemorated on the EFD Roll of Honour
