Frederick HAIGH

Sergeant 2955, Duke of Lancaster’s Own Yeomanry

Frederick was born in Prescot in 1890, the son of Thomas and Annie Haigh.

He joined the Territorial Force on 20th December 1910for 5 years in Blackpool and attended annual camp in the following three years. He was embodied on the outbreak of war in August 1914 and in January of 1915 was promoted to Corporal, followed by a promotion to Sergeant in July of that year.

On 19th December 1915 he was discharged as he had now served his term of engagement.

He did not serve overseas and had no medal entitlement. His address on discharge was given as Warrington Road, Prescot
