78, Warrington Road, Prescot Private 177120, Royal Air Force Born in Whiston 6th March 1898, Jack was the only child of William and Ruth Rimmer. He enlisted to the Royal Air Force on 21st May 1918. He recorded his civilian occupation as 'Electrician' and listed his father, WilliamRimmer, as his next of kin.
Jack Rimmer was promoted to Sergeant on 3rd August that year, and served with 205 Squadron. Based in France, this squadron was used predominantly to bomb German airfields until the end of the war.
Jack was transferred to the RAF Reserve on 27th April 1919.
