Woodcroft, West Street, Prescot Private 15176, 17th Bn., King’s (Liverpool) Regiment 13 year old Ewart lived in Cardiff in 1901 with grandmother Emily Jones. I have been unable to locate him on the 1911 census.
He married Rachel Bamber in West Derby in the early summer of 1914.
He served with the 17th Bn of the King's (Liverpool) Regiment and will have been based at the Watch Factory in Prescot with them.
Ewart went to France on 7th November 1915. At some point in his service he was transferred to the 4th Battalion of the regiment.
Ewart was demobilised, probably in February 1919 and was entitled to the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal
He died in Liverpool in 1935, aged 48
