Private 118835, Royal Army Medical Corps

Acting Lance Corporal 61417, Royal Army Medical Corps

Harry joined the army on 19th July 1915. He was employed as a Gardener at that time. His next of kin was his wife, Eliza Ann Parks (Nee Jones). They had married on 2nd September 1911 at Earlestown and their daughter, Nora Gwendoline, was born on 6th December 1912 in Prescot.

At some point, he lost his right eye although it appears that this was NOT a result of his military service. He was also transferred to the Labour Corps, as Private 528882. He was posted to 479 Agricultural Company, based in Lincoln.

He was discharged on 29th May 1919 (aged 35) and was entitled to the British War Medal, Victory Medal and Silver War Badge
