15, Bond Street, Prescot Private 14841, 12th Bn., King At the time of the 1901 census, Owen was a 19 year old Labourer and lived at 15, Bond Street, Prescot. This was the home of his widowed sister, Ann Byron. I have been unable to locate him in the 1911 Census.
Attesting to the army on 3rd September 1914 in Southport, Owen, by now reporting his age as 30, was allocated Number 14841 with the 12th Bn of the King's (Liverpool) Regiment.
His next of kin was his sister, Catherine Donnelly, of 7, Hurst Street, Old Swan.
In May 1915, Owen was listed in the Prescot Reporter as one of the local Roman Catholic men of the town who were serving in the military.
He was punished twice in early 1915 for Drunkenness and then on 26th April 1915, when based at Salisbury Plain, he was discharged from the army due to his misconduct.
He had not served overseas.
At the time of the 1939 National Register, shown below, Owen was living at 298 Windsor Gardens in Liverpool
