Address Not Known Captain, 6th Bn., Lancashire Fusiliers Born in Rochdale on 8th June, 1878, Eric Molesworth lived in Prescot in the early part of the 20th century, after going into partnership with William Tyrer, a solicitor of Aspinall Street.
He married Harriet Cicely Mitchell, daughter of the Revd Harry Mitchell, in Prescot on 28th April 1909. They did not have any children.
By the time of the 1911 census, he had moved back to Littleborough, where he was recorded as a Solicitor and Deputy Coroner for Lancashire.
On the outbreak of war, he took up a Commission as Second Lieutenant with the6th Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers and went to Gallipoli with them, arriving there on 10th July 1915.
On 9th October 1915, the Liverpool Echo reported that he had been seriously wounded. He was promoted to Captain in December 1916.

The October 1915 edition of the Church Parish Magazine also included the following:-
"SECOND LIEUT. E. N. MOLESWORTH, sometime resident in Prescot, of the 6th Lancashire Fusiliers, was wounded in the Gallipoli Peninsula on September 8th, and is now in hospital in Leeds. He has received five wounds, but is reported to be going on well."

2/Lt Molesworth was entitled to the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal. In addition, he received the Silver War Badge when he was discharged due to his wounds. As an officer, he had to apply for his medals, which he did on 29th March 1919, giving his address as The Gale, Littleborough, Lancs.

Eric Molesworth died in Somerset in late 1952, aged 74.
