3, Victoria Place, Prescot Pte 21984, 11th Bn., South Lancashire Regiment George was a 31 year old Labourer when he attested for the duration of the war on 13th August 1915 at Prescot. His next of kin was his wife, Mary Elizabeth (nee Mason), who he had married in Huyton on 27th July 1907. They had two children, George Richard (b. 16th January 1908 in Prescot), and Margery, born on 12th December 1909 in Rainhill.
After just under two months service, George was classed as being unfit for service and was discharged. The reason was that he suffered from epilepsy.
