5, Eccleston Street, Prescot Private 630, National Reserve The 1911 census listed Riobert Lindon as a 45 yesar old single man living with his parents at 46, St Helens Road, Prescot. A native iof Widnes, he worked in the Brass Department of the Wire Works.
Robert was already 46 years old when he attested to the National Reserve in St Helens in November 1914. His sister, Margaret Cox of Liverpool Road, St Helens, was listed as his next of kin. He was posted to No 1 Supernumary Company of the 2nd/5th Battalion of the South Lancashire Regiment.
His embodied service lasted until 28th April 1916 when he was transferred to the Royal Defence Corps as Private 24098. Then on 6th April 1918 he was again transferred to the 12th Bn. Of the Royal Defence Corps.
He was demobilised on 1st April 1919. On discharge, he gave his address as 73, Scholes Lane, Thatto Heath. Robert did not serve overseas and had no medal entitlement.
