Born in Rainhill in 1888, William Flower was the second son of Henry and Maria Flower. The 1911 census showed him aged 23 and employed as a Jobbing Gardner, as was his father and elder brother.
William was included in the Prescot Reporter list of men serving the colours in May 1915. He sailed for France on 29/11/1915 but nothing more is known of his military service.
William was entitled to the 1915 Star, British War Medal and Victory Medal.
