11 Sutherland Road, Prescot Pte 955, 5th Bn, South Lancashire Regiment Attesting for 4 years service with the Territorials on 25th February 1909, Peter Corns was aged 17 and worked as a Collier at Lea Green Colliery. He was the son of David and Elizabeth Corns, He attended annual camp for four years and was then discharged on the completion of his engagement on 22nd February 1913.
The 1939 National register, shown below, recorded Peter living in Edge Street, Nutgrove, where he was employed as a Confectioner
