Thomas was included in the Prescot Reporter list of May 1915, showing Prescot men serving with the colours. In 1916, he was again pictured (above), with a report that he had been wounded.
Thomas was entitled to the British War Medal, Victory Medal and the Territorial Force Efficiency Medal.
