James Mutch was listed in the Prescot Reporter list of men serving the colours in May 1915. However, it has not been possible to determine details of his service as there were several men of this name who served.
In addition, there were two men named James Mutch living in Prescot at the time of the Great War and both were of an age to have served in the military. One, born 1896, lived at 26, Moss Street and the second, born 1889, lived at 20, Cyprus Street.
