Methodist Church Memorial

The Memorial Plaque in the church in Atherton Street holds the names of 13 members of the church who fell in the First World War. It is inscribed:-

To The Glory Of God And In Grateful Memory Of

The Members Of This Church And Congregation

Who Laid Down Their Lives In The Great War

1914 – 1919

The plaque is white mounted on grey marble, with gold lettering. There is a Rose relief on the left hand side and clover to the right, and at the top of the plaque is a shield with cross, flanked by flags on either side.
